About me and my therapy practice

My name is Rachel, founder of The Interpersonal Space. I provide confidential, evidence-based psychotherapy and counselling for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and emotional distress. Using Person-Centred Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), I offer a safe, compassionate space to explore your experiences, improve emotional wellbeing, build resilience, strengthen coping strategies and create meaningful, lasting change through tailored, professional mental health support.

I specialise in providing thoughtful, evidence‑based psychotherapy for individuals seeking a structured, reflective space to understand their emotional world more deeply. Qualified in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Person-Centred Counselling, I also provide clinical supervision as an accredited IPT Supervisor and accredited IPT Trainer.

Many people reach out for therapy at moments when life feels heavy, confusing or simply too much to manage alone. If you’re finding yourself overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or struggling to make sense of your emotions or relationships, you don’t have to navigate it on your own. I offer a calm, steady space where you can talk openly and feel heard.

Practice description

I work primarily from an Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Person-Centred Therapy approach, helping you explore and understand the emotions, relationships, interactions and the patterns that shape how you feel, think and respond to life. We work together to understand what is happening for you and how meaningful change can take place.

I support adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief, work stress, and life transitions. Treatment typically begins with a focused assessment to identify what you want to change, followed by steady, collaborative sessions that explore your experiences and relationships in depth.

My first session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and any concerns or questions you may have. I will ask you to complete a brief initial assessment to help me understand your needs, background, and current circumstances. We will also explore whether my approach feels right for you and agree on possible next steps. The session is offered at my standard rate, with no obligation to book further appointments.
