Practice description

Finding the Right Therapist Matters

Successful therapy starts with a strong therapeutic relationship. It’s important to feel that your therapist is someone you can trust — someone who listens with empathy, respects your pace, and truly hears you.

I really enjoy helping people to make sense of their lives and find a way through what can be quite a messy process. Sometimes it is a specialist subject such as being transgender, or gay, or bereaved ... (just to name a few of my specialties) ..... but sometimes you won't even know what it is that brings you to therapy, only that you need to make changes to how you are or how you live.

Whatever the reason you decide to take up some therapy, I look forward to meeting you and helping you find the support, clarity, and change you’re seeking.

My first session

Whilst I view the first session as a getting to know each other session, I usually offer a 20 minute free session before this so both of us can get an idea of the way forward.

After this, if you do decide to start therapy with me I will ask you to complete a pre-therapy questionnaire and once I have looked over this and only providing I think I can help, then I will send you a very short agreement  to sign. We usually use around session 5 or 6 looking to evaluate whether we are heading in the right direction.

Are you an online therapist seeking to a specialist online supervisor?

I support online therapists in both group and individual online supervision.

I have developed a model for online supervision which you can read more about by clicking below:

 https://www.harleystreetonlinetherapy.com/weitz-online-supervision-5-dimensions-model.

I have currently have availability, and can be quite flexible most of the time.

About me and my therapy practice

I believe in the importance of delivering my online supervision within the framework of the extensive documents provided by ±«ÓãÊÓƵ These are listed on my website https://harleystreetonlinetherapy.com/pipweitzonlinesupervisor.

I work in both English and French, with supervisees from all over the world.

I work both with individual supervisees and groups of up to four people. Working with groups is so rewarding for everyone as we all benefit from the diversity of training modalities (anything from CBT right through to psychoanalytic) and experience of the members of the group.

I’m also the Director of the Harley Street Online Therapy Centre, Honorary Fellow and former Vice Chair of the Association for Counselling & Therapy Online, and Founder and Former Principal of The Academy for Online Therapy. These leadership roles keep me at the forefront of online therapy developments — but most importantly, they deepen my ability to support you with a thoughtful, informed, and tailored approach.

I have worked as a qualified online supervisor since 2016. This is specialist supervision delivered online to therapists themselves delivering their therapy online.

Practice description

Because of my specialist training in online supervision I know and am experienced in working with the issues that regularly come up:

  • when working cross-border, jurisdiction issues,
  • cultural and international issues
  • the extended levels of risk assessment and safeguarding that we need to consider

.... to name but a few of the regularly recurring themes that simply don't figure in face to face therapy.

From feedback my supervision is both rewarding and enriching, leading to better outcomes for clients - obviously one of the aims of supervision, though not the only one.

I have developing my own model of online supervision:

 https://www.harleystreetonlinetherapy.com/weitz-online-supervision-5-dimensions-model

- reading this will help you to know much more about the specialist breadth and depth of online supervision.

I am happy to work with you using the online format that you prefer: live chat, email, or/and video, swapping between formats to suit you. ±«ÓãÊÓƵrecommend that at least some of the supervision is received in the same format as the therapy you are delivering.

I am an ACTO Level 3 Senior Professional Member and a qualified online supervisor offering online supervision and an Honorary Fellow of ACTO (Association for Counselling & Therapy Online).

I am the former Founder and Principal of The Academy for Online Therapy.

Although not teaching full time any more I provide training in online therapy and online supervision all over the world, as well as writing chapters and articles on these subjects. I am regularly asked to advise start ups in online therapy and have recently served as Clinical Director for Mental Health for four companies.

I hope this gives you a flavour of the supervision I offer and look forward to working with you. If you are looking for an online supervisor you can just book one session with me first to see if you like the way I work.
