About me and my therapy practice

Opening up about how you’re feeling can be tough. It’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with.

I offer a friendly, warm space where we can explore your current issues, your past, and your future, without judgement or expectation. When it comes to your own life, you’re the expert. I’ll work collaboratively alongside you to help bring about the changes you want to make to improve your relationships - with others and with yourself

Before becoming a psychotherapist I had a long career with the BBC. Hearing and telling other peoples’ stories developed my empathy and made me curious about why we do what we do.

Having therapy myself led me to understand that talking to someone who is trained to listen can be life-changing when you feel stuck or overwhelmed.

Practice description

±«ÓãÊÓƵ

I’ve worked with adults aged from 18 and 80 from diverse backgrounds, LGBTQIA + clients and neurodivergent clients. We are all unique. Come as you are for an initial consultation and see if you think we can work together.

I welcome clients trying therapy for the first time and those returning to it. I’ve got extensive experience of bereavement counselling which informs my work with all sorts of losses and transitions.

My approach is ‘relational’, which means I believe we can only understand ourselves in relation to each other and to the world we live in.

What happens between us in therapy offers helpful insights into how we are outside of therapy. To explore this, I integrate aspects of Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Existential approaches.

I offer both long and short-term therapy and currently only work online. Sessions are 50 minutes at the same scheduled time each week.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute introductory phone consultation so we can get a sense of whether we might be a good fit and you can explain what's brought you to therapy now.

If we decide to proceed then I'll send you a copy of my Counselling Agreement and book in our first session.
