About me and my therapy practice

I’m a person-centred counsellor — I work alongside you and provide consistent support that will help you face what feels difficult and enable you to move forward.

I welcome a wide range of clients with many different backgrounds, presenting issues and challenges. These often include things like feeling anxious, depressed or overwhelmed, experiencing grief and loss, dealing with a health issue or diagnosis, encountering family or relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, work stress, procrastination, an unhelpful inner critic or feeling lost or stuck.

You may not have a specific goal in mind, rather a feeling that something’s not quite right, a desire to make time to connect with your true self — what’s behind the expected roles and masks you have to wear. This counselling space will help you increase understanding of yourself and identify what is needed to live more authentically and thrive.

My clients often comment that it is the going at their pace and non-judgement I provide, that feels particularly helpful for sharing feelings and experiences. Our gentle exploration together can bring powerful realisations and shifts.

I offer presence without judgement and genuine curiosity in your unique way of looking at the world. I will be led by you in terms of the pace and content of each session, nothing is ever forced.

Practice description

I offer counselling sessions online (Doxy.me), telephone, and in-person in Penryn and Redruth.

I currently work with clients who are UK-based and 18yrs +

I work with young people as a volunteer at Penhaligon’s Friends, a Cornish charity supporting bereaved children, young people, parents, and carers.

I am also an artist and workshop facilitator. I design and lead a range of creative sessions for groups, often exploring the power of play and experimentation with materials to recharge, relax and find your voice. Some materials are available in face-to-face counselling sessions, but there is no expectation or pressure to do this — many of my clients find that talking is preferred, and is enough.

My first session

I offer a free introductory phone call to discuss what you’d like to get out of the counselling sessions, see if we’re a good fit, and check our availability matches up. You can call or message me to book this in. There is no obligation to then proceed with counselling — it can be a good idea to meet a few counsellors to find who you feel most comfortable with.

Concessionary rates are available, please ask me about these during our introductory call.
