About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor, psychotherapist and creative therapist with an MSc in Psychology. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted as you are.
My approach is person-centred, relational and trauma-informed. This means I do not believe that one way of working suits everyone. Instead, I adapt therapy to your individual needs, experiences, communication style and pace. We may use talking therapy alongside creative or experiential approaches to help you explore feelings that can sometimes be difficult to express in words.
I have experience supporting children, young people and adults with anxiety, low self-esteem, loss, relationship difficulties, family changes, emotional distress and the effects of difficult or overwhelming experiences. I also have a particular understanding of autism, ADHD and neurodivergence. My work is neuro-affirming and focuses on understanding the person rather than trying to change who they are.
Our sessions can provide space to make sense of your experiences, recognise patterns, develop greater self-understanding and find ways of coping that feel manageable and meaningful to you. I will work collaboratively with you, respecting your choices and recognising that you are the expert in your own life.
Building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is central to how I practise. I offer empathy, honesty and consistency, allowing therapy to develop gradually without pressure or judgement.
Practice description
I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel accepted as you are. I understand that beginning therapy can feel daunting, so I work gently and at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I am an integrative counsellor, psychotherapist and creative therapist with an MSc in Psychology. My approach is person-centred, relational and trauma-informed. As everyone experiences and processes difficulties differently, I adapt the way I work to your individual needs, preferences and communication style rather than using one fixed approach.
Sessions may involve talking therapy, creative exploration or practical ways of understanding emotions and experiences. You will never be expected to use creative methods unless they feel helpful to you. Together, we can explore what has brought you to therapy, recognise patterns, develop self-understanding and find ways forward that feel meaningful and manageable.
I work with difficulties including anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, relationship or family problems, life changes, emotional distress and the effects of difficult or overwhelming experiences. I also have experience supporting autistic and neurodivergent people. I work in a neuro-affirming way, seeking to understand and support the whole person rather than viewing difference as something that needs to be corrected.
The relationship between us is central to my practice. I offer empathy, honesty and consistency, while respecting that you are the expert on your own life. We will regularly reflect on how therapy is feeling for you so that our work remains collaborative, safe and focused on what you need.
