About me and my therapy practice
An Integrative/pluralistic counsellor who works relationally, blending Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt and CBT approaches.
Practice description
At times, our emotions can feel confusing, difficult, or simply too much to make sense of alone. My aim is to offer a warm, welcoming space where we can explore these experiences together, at a pace that feels right for you. I know that starting your counselling journey can feel daunting, and that those first steps aren't always easy.
I take the time to get to know you and understand how you experience the world, rather than rushing to decide what needs to change. Feeling safe and understood is where everything else begins.
I'm particularly drawn to working with people carrying overwhelming emotions, including anxiety, low mood, anger, self-harm, emotional dysregulation, or thoughts of suicide. However this shows up for you, I believe there's real value in understanding what lies beneath it, rather than treating you as a problem to be fixed.
I've supported children, young people and adults across schools, charity services and residential care, often when emotions have felt at their most intense. That work has deepened my belief that people are always more than the difficulties that bring them to counselling.
I won't try to advise or rescue you from what you're feeling. I'll walk alongside you as we explore your experiences together, building a deeper understanding of yourself, exploring different ways of responding, and finding your own way towards change.
My hope is that through this, self-exploration can make space for greater understanding, acceptance and kindness towards yourself. It's from this place that change becomes possible.
My first session
I offer a free 10 minute telephone call before booking your first session, this gives us a chance to briefly talk about what has brought you to counselling and see whether we feel a good fit.
If we decide to work together, the first session and any sessions moving forward will last for 50 minutes. The first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you, understand what you're experiencing, and explore what you hope to gain from counselling.
