About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I鈥檓 Amy, and I鈥檓 really glad you鈥檙e here.

If you鈥檙e reading this, there鈥檚 a chance you鈥檝e been thinking about reaching out for some time. Perhaps you鈥檙e struggling with something that feels difficult to make sense of, or maybe you simply know that you don鈥檛 feel quite like yourself at the moment. Whatever has brought you here, it's important to you which means it's important.

I鈥檓 an M鲍鱼视频Person-Centred Therapist, with a Master鈥檚 degree in Clinical Skills in Integrative Psychotherapy. At the heart of my work is the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role isn鈥檛 to tell you what to do. Instead, I鈥檒l work alongside you, offering a space where you can slow things down, make sense of what you鈥檙e experiencing and begin to understand yourself with greater compassion.

I aim to create a space that feels warm, genuine and free from judgement, where you can talk openly and be yourself, without worrying about saying the 鈥渞ight鈥 thing. Sometimes therapy is about making sense of what鈥檚 happening right now; sometimes it鈥檚 about looking back at the experiences that have shaped you and understanding how they continue to affect you today.

Although I work primarily from a Person-Centred approach, my additional training in Integrative Psychotherapy means that, where it feels helpful and you鈥檙e comfortable with it, we can draw on different therapeutic tools and techniques. We鈥檒l always work collaboratively, at a pace that feels right for you.

Ultimately, my hope is that therapy gives you a place to feel truly heard and understood, while helping you reconnect with your own strengths, develop a deeper understanding of yourself and move towards a life that feels more fulfilling and authentic to you.

Practice description

A little about my experience

I have over 10 years鈥 experience working within the mental health sector, providing a range of one-to-one support. I have particular experience working with young people aged 11鈥26, alongside my work with adults.

Throughout my experience, I鈥檝e supported people with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, identity and self-esteem, relationship difficulties, sexual violence and trauma.

I feel genuinely passionate about helping people understand themselves, not just what they鈥檙e struggling with, but why they might be feeling this way and how their experiences have helped shape who they are today. I believe that having the space to explore these things with someone can be incredibly powerful.

If you鈥檙e wondering whether therapy might be right for you, you鈥檙e very welcome to get in touch. You don鈥檛 need to know exactly what you want to say or even be sure that therapy is the right thing for you. We can simply start with a chat and take it from there.

My first session

One thing that is really important when accessing therapy is having a strong working relationship with your therapist. Therefore, I offer a free 20-minute phone call which gives you the opportunity to see what talking to me feels like and if I would be the right fit for you.
