About me and my therapy practice

I am a UK-registered psychotherapist (MBACP), and published doctoral researcher specialising in trauma, resilience and growth. I am also a keen mindfulness meditator with a daily practice, and have sat multiple vipassana retreats in Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand for up to 40 days at a time.

I have a BA degree in Politics, Psychology and Sociology from the University of Cambridge, a Master’s in Psychology (distinction), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Existential Psychology and Psychotherapy.

I previously have over a decade of experience running organizations, including the turnaround of a risk management company from 30 to over 500 employees in Yangon, Myanmar (Burma), and a refugee addiction NGO reaching over 20,000 displaced people a year along the Thai-Myanmar border. I am a chartered management accountant (ACMA, CGMA), and have an MBA.

Practice description

Sometimes we can become stuck or overwhelmed by life. Therapy offers a place to honour the reality of our lives, as well as a space to explore how we might engage with the world in new and fruitful ways. It may allow us to clarify what we value, and how we might approach this.

As a therapist, my role is to help you on your journey, as a fellow traveller. Ultimately, only you can know who you are and who you will become. I am not an expert who is going to tell you what to do or put you in a box and label you.

When we engage with what life has laid before us in a spirit of courage and wonder, we become alive, and our passions can run freely in our veins: we have our task.

When we avoid, we rob ourselves of life's meaning, as well as the beauty and wisdom it has to disclose to us: we stagnate and deaden before our time is up.

Coming to therapy for the first time can be daunting. I suggest a single first session in which we can meet. You can then decide if you would like to continue.

I am available online.
