Availability

I work flexible hours, so can often meet the needs of out of hours timings for sessions.

I work from both in my home in Brockley, SE4, in South London, and also at my practice at:

The Practice

20 Great Portland St,

London W1W 8QR.

I also do on line sessions.

I am an experienced, fully accredited psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience working therapeutically with children, teenagers and adults. My background includes many years as a school therapist, working with children from the age of five upwards, as well as extensive experience supporting adults.

I specialise in working with trauma and attachment difficulties, anxiety, bereavement, relationships and emotional difficulties. I also work with people with ADHD and autism, including those who identify with traits associated with neurodivergence.

I believe that behaviour is communication. What may appear as anger, anxiety, withdrawal, avoidance, perfectionism or emotional outbursts can often be an adaptation — a way of coping with experiences that have felt overwhelming. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?", I am interested in understanding, "What has happened to you, and what have you needed to survive?"

My aim is to provide a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you or your child can feel genuinely heard and understood. Therapy is collaborative, and I work at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

I am an M±«ÓãÊÓƵmember and a registered member of the NCPS, which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate, Level 3 Safeguarding training and Place2Be certification, and regularly undertake continuing professional development.

About me and my therapy practice

I take an integrative and relational approach, which means I don't believe that one type of therapy works for everyone. Instead, I draw upon different therapeutic approaches according to your individual needs, experiences and goals.

My work incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT, somatic approaches, relational psychotherapy, and creative and play-based therapy.

A central part of my work is understanding behaviour as communication. Anger, avoidance, withdrawal, people-pleasing, perfectionism or emotional outbursts may have developed as ways of protecting us when life has felt frightening, overwhelming or uncertain. Together, we become curious about what these responses are trying to communicate and what lies underneath them.

Working with Children

Children often communicate through play and behaviour rather than words. Through drawing, games, storytelling, creative activities and conversation, I help children express feelings in ways that feel natural to them.

I may use IFS to explore different "parts" of a child — such as the angry part, worried part, people-pleasing part or part that wants to hide — helping them understand these responses rather than feeling ashamed of them. Somatic and co-regulation approaches can also help children recognise emotions in their bodies.

Working with Teenagers

With teenagers, I provide a space where they can explore identity, relationships, confidence, anxiety, academic pressures and difficult emotions without feeling judged. We can gently explore the adaptations they have developed and whether these are still serving them.

Working with Adults

With adults, therapy may involve exploring trauma, anxiety, relationships, difficult life experiences or major transitions. We can work towards greater self-understanding, self-compassion, emotional resilience and more fulfilling relationships.

Whatever your age, I aim to work with you, rather than doing therapy to you.

Practice description

Starting therapy can feel daunting. My aim is to create a warm, safe and non-judgemental environment where you, your teenager or your child can feel comfortable being themselves.

I work with children, teenagers and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties, bereavement, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm and challenges associated with ADHD, autism and neurodivergence.

For children, I use creative and age-appropriate approaches including play, drawing, storytelling, games and conversation. I recognise that difficult behaviour often communicates something that a child may not yet have the words to express.

With teenagers, therapy can provide a private space to explore identity, friendships, confidence, anxiety, academic pressures and the emotional changes that come with growing up.

With adults, I work with difficulties including anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationships, bereavement and significant life changes.

My approach is integrative, drawing upon IFS, attachment theory, EFT, CBT, somatic approaches and relational therapy. I adapt the work to the individual rather than expecting the individual to fit a particular therapy.

I believe meaningful change begins when we feel genuinely understood. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will work together at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

I offer in-person and online sessions in South London (SE4) and Oxford Circus (W1W 8QR).

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin to understand what has brought you, your teenager or your child to therapy.

We'll talk about what has been happening, what you would like to be different, and any hopes or goals you may have. With children and teenagers, I will adapt this according to their age and developmental stage. This might involve talking, drawing, games or other creative approaches rather than simply sitting and talking.

There is no expectation that you tell your whole story in the first session. Some experiences take time to talk about, and trust develops gradually. My priority is helping you or your child feel safe and comfortable.

Where appropriate, we may begin to notice patterns in thoughts, feelings, relationships and behaviour. I may gently explore what a particular behaviour or emotional response could be communicating, rather than simply focusing on trying to stop it.

For parents, the first session may also provide an opportunity to discuss concerns about your child and to think together about how we can best support them. Depending on the child's age, I may work directly with them, with parents, or with a combination of both.

By the end of the first session, we will have a clearer idea of what you would like support with and whether I am the right therapist for you or your child.

There is no pressure to have everything figured out. We can start simply, together.

Availability

I work flexible hours, so there are no fixed times. I work from Oxford Circus on Fridays, at

The Practice,

20 Great Portland Street,

W1W 8QR,

until late evening.

The other days I work from my home in Brockley SE4, in south east London. I also work on line.

I normally work a few evenings too, mainly on line.

I am happy to discuss with you and if possible will do try to accommodate.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer you a confidential, empathic, and non-judgemental space for us to explore your challenges together.

I will work collaboratively with you using a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your needs. These include Body and Somatic work, EMDR-informed, Internal Family Systems, EFT and CBT.

In couples therapy I use Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman to explore the patterns and the primary emotions.

You might also be wanting support to avoid reaching crisis point, to process past events, or to deal with relationships in your life now. You may feel lost, scared, overwhelmed, stressed and alone.

In our body we carry unprocessed trauma from our past. The body has the key, so somatic work is part of the process.

So, I don't believe there is something "wrong" with you. I believe your mind and body have adapted in remarkable ways to help you survive difficult experiences.

Anxiety, emotional overwhelm, people-pleasing, perfectionism, anger, emotional numbness, dissociation or shutting down are often not signs of weakness—they are intelligent protective responses that developed for good reasons. While they may no longer serve you in the way they once did, they deserve to be understood before they are asked to change.

My role is not to fight against these parts of you, but to help you understand them with compassion. By working together through the body, emotions and your relationships, we can gently create the safety needed for those protective patterns to soften naturally, allowing you to experience greater freedom, connection and resilience.

Together, we explore not only the challenges you are facing today but also the adaptive ways your mind and body learned to survive difficult experiences.

I will offer a safe space to understand these patterns with compassion and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others.

I work with you through stages, from safety to healing.

I also work with children as a child therapist. Having been a school counsellor for 15 years.

Practice description

I offer an integrative approach drawing on a range of evidence-based therapies to meet your individual needs.

I incorporate:

Somatic Therapy

Trauma affects both the mind and the body. Alongside talking therapy, somatic therapy uses gentle body awareness and nervous system regulation to help process overwhelming experiences and reduce the impact of long-held stress, anxiety, and trauma responses.

Attachment-Focused EMDR

Attachment-Focused EMDR combines EMDR with attachment theory to help heal the effects of relational and developmental trauma. It supports the processing of painful memories while placing particular emphasis on creating safety, trust, and a secure therapeutic relationship.

Internal Family Systems informed approach.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle, compassionate approach to therapy that helps you understand the different parts of yourself. Rather than seeing these parts as problems, IFS helps you approach them with curiosity and compassion, creating space for healing, greater self-understanding, and lasting emotional change.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

For individuals and couples.

Together, we gently explore the emotions, attachment experiences  helping you make sense of your reactions.

Most couples don't come to therapy because they've stopped loving each other, it's because they've become trapped in painful patterns that neither of them knows how to escape. Conversations turn into arguments, one  may pursue while the other withdraws, and both can end up feeling hurt, alone and unseen.

Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), alongside attachment theory, Internal Family Systems and body-based approaches, I help couples gently slow these moments down and make sense of what is happening beneath the surface. We explore not only the words that are spoken, but also the deeper fears, longings and protective responses that often remain hidden. My aim is help you feel closer, more secure, and able to turn towards each other again when life becomes difficult.

My first session

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step.

I am happy to take a call and chat in an unhurried way, with no time restriction, so we can see how we fit, what your needs are and how I feel i can help with those

My priority in our first session is not to ask you to relive painful experiences, but to create a space where you feel safe, understood and in control of the process.

Together, we'll take time to explore what has brought you to therapy, what you hope might change, and what has helped you cope so far. Rather than asking "What's wrong with you?", I'm interested in understanding "What has happened to you?" and how your mind and body have adapted to help you survive. Many of the patterns that now feel overwhelming or frustrating once had an important purpose.

Drawing on somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we'll begin to gently notice how your experiences are held not only in your thoughts, but also in your emotions, your body and your relationships. You won't be expected to talk about anything before you're ready. Instead, we'll work at a pace that feels manageable, helping you develop a sense of safety, curiosity and confidence before approaching deeper work.

For many people, simply experiencing a relationship where they feel genuinely heard, accepted and not judged is the beginning of healing. As therapy progresses, we'll build on that foundation together, helping you understand your protective responses, strengthen your connection with yourself, and move towards lasting emotional and physical wellbeing.

I assess as we go along, unless there are indicators that a more formal assessment may be better to get to the root of issues.
