About me and my therapy practice
Integrative counselling for adults
Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted. You may be struggling with relationships, boundaries or self-esteem, repeating patterns that are difficult to change, or feeling affected by trauma, loss or painful earlier experiences. You may be navigating neurodivergence, a significant life transition, or questions about identity, meaning and direction. Sometimes there is no clear explanation—only a sense that something no longer feels manageable.
I offer a calm, confidential and collaborative space where you can speak openly and feel understood without judgement. You do not need to have everything clearly understood before beginning therapy. We can take time to explore what is happening in your life, how you are feeling and what you would like to change.
My approach is integrative, relational, attachment-based and trauma-informed. I draw upon different therapeutic perspectives according to your individual needs rather than expecting one method to suit everyone. I pay attention to your present experience, relationships and emotional world, as well as how earlier experiences may continue to influence the way you feel about yourself and relate to others. My work is sensitive to culture and neurodivergence and may include creative or body-aware exploration when this feels helpful.
Therapy may support relief from emotional distress while developing insight, self-awareness and a deeper understanding of underlying patterns. Over time, this can help you find more manageable and meaningful ways of relating to yourself, other people and the challenges in your life.
Practice description
I am a qualified integrative counsellor, a member of the ±«ÓãÊÓƵand a Graduate Member of the BPS. I hold an MSc in Psychology and am completing an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. My professional experience has mainly involved working therapeutically with children and adolescents, developing my understanding of emotional development, attachment, family relationships and trauma.
I am now extending my therapeutic work with adults through further integrative psychotherapy training. My current private practice is for adults only, with individual in-person sessions offered in Finchley. My work is supported by regular clinical supervision and follows the ±«ÓãÊÓƵEthical Framework.
Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly at the same agreed time. Meeting consistently can provide continuity and allow the therapeutic relationship to develop gradually. I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy.
Short-term work may focus on a particular concern, current difficulty or period of change. Open-ended therapy provides more time to explore longstanding experiences and recurring emotional or relationship patterns. We can agree an initial focus together and review the work as therapy develops, so that it remains connected to your needs and aims.
Beginning therapy is a personal decision, and it is important to find someone with whom you feel able to speak openly. Before arranging a first session, you are welcome to contact me with any questions or request a free 15-minute introductory conversation. This offers an opportunity to briefly discuss what you are looking for and consider whether arranging an initial session feels appropriate.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin considering whether working together feels right for you. It lasts 50 minutes and does not commit you to continuing.
You can talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like help with. If this is difficult to explain or still feels unclear, we can take time to explore it together. There is no expectation that you share everything at once.
I may ask some gentle questions about your current circumstances, relevant earlier experiences, important relationships and what you hope might change through therapy. You will also have space to ask questions about the therapeutic process or raise any concerns.
We will discuss confidentiality, boundaries, cancellations and other practical aspects of working together. Toward the end of the session, we can reflect on how the meeting has felt and consider whether further therapy would be helpful. If we decide to continue, we can agree a regular weekly time and an initial focus for our work.
