About me and my therapy practice
Seeking counselling can feel like a significant step, particularly if you're used to facing life's challenges on your own. I offer a warm, confidential and accepting space where you can talk openly, without fear of judgement, and feel truly heard.
My background in music has given me a strong appreciation for the importance of listening, patience and attunement—qualities that continue to shape the way I work with clients. I believe that feeling genuinely listened to and understood can be the foundation for meaningful change.
As a person-centred counsellor, I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as we explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences together. I value honesty, empathy and authenticity, and I aim to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to be yourself.
Clients have described their experience of working with me as calm, supportive and reassuring, highlighting my warmth, kindness and ability to listen without judgement. Clients have told me that they found it easy to talk openly, felt comforted and well supported, and that our work together helped them enormously through difficult periods in their lives. I’m particularly grateful to hear that the benefits of counselling can continue beyond our sessions, helping clients feel more able to navigate life with greater confidence and understanding.
Practice description
Many of the people I work with are struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss, or the lasting impact of difficult early family experiences. Sometimes the challenges we face today can be connected to patterns that began much earlier in life. Together, we can gently explore these experiences, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your self-awareness, and move towards the changes that feel right for you.
I recognise that every person's story is different, so I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I will work at your pace, respecting your autonomy and supporting you in finding your own way forward. Whether you are coming to counselling for the first time or returning after previous therapy, you will be welcomed with warmth, compassion and respect.
My first session
Finding the right counsellor is an important part of the process, and it’s natural to want to feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with. I offer a free, no-obligation 20-minute call where you can tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling and ask any questions you may have. Most importantly, it gives us a chance to see how we feel talking together and whether we might be a good fit.
