About me and my therapy practice

Hello. I'm Jack, a BACP-registered therapist working with adults in Deal, London and online.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, burnout or overwhelming thoughts and feelings. Or perhaps life looks relatively successful from the outside, but something no longer feels right. You may feel stuck in repeating patterns, uncertain about the future, or increasingly disconnected from yourself and the people around you.

My approach is thoughtful, relational and collaborative. I offer dedicated time and space away from other people's needs, expectations and demands, where you don't have to perform or have all the answers. Together, we explore what it's like to be you and try to make sense of the experiences, relationships and patterns that have shaped your life.

I don't believe people are problems to be solved. Rather than trying to fix or judge what you're experiencing, we'll approach it with curiosity and compassion. Over time, this can bring greater understanding and more freedom in how you relate to yourself, to others and to the choices you face.

If this resonates, you're welcome to get in touch. We can arrange an initial call to talk about what has brought you to therapy and whether working together feels like a good fit.

Practice description

I am an integrative psychotherapist with a particular interest in how early relationships, unconscious patterns and unspoken expectations continue to shape our experience in the present.

Sessions are conversational and collaborative. I work relationally, which means the relationship we develop is an important part of the therapy itself. Together, we pay attention to thoughts, feelings, relationships and recurring patterns, as well as to what may emerge between us in the room.

My approach draws primarily on humanistic, psychodynamic and relational thinking. I don't impose a fixed framework or expect you to arrive with a clearly defined goal. Some people come with a particular difficulty they want to explore; others simply know that something in their life no longer feels right.

I bring warmth, honesty and thoughtful challenge to the work, adapting the therapy to you and what you bring.

My first session

We’ll start with a 30-minute phone call. This is a chance for me to get a sense of what’s going on for you and for you to ask any questions you might have. There’s no pressure — it’s simply an opportunity to see whether this feels like a good fit.

After our call, I’ll send you a short questionnaire to gather background information, along with a copy of the contract outlining how we’ll work together.

From there, we’ll begin our work. The first session is the same length and cost as ongoing sessions. During this session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and work through an informal assessment to help shape the focus and direction of our work going forward.
