About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Amy. I'm a queer, neurodivergent humanistic therapist. Life can be really hard and having a safe space to explore what's going on for you can really support in your journey through it. Sometimes tough times can make you feel disconnected from yourself and your values, you may be in a lot of distress or something might just not feel right. I hope to co-create a relationship with you where you are able to connect to yourself and what matters to you to choose how you want to move forward. This may involve paying attention to all parts of yourself and your experience, to understand them, move through difficult emotions and accept everything that makes you who you are.

I also work as a hospital doctor and I have a background in acting. These experiences have shown me how the mind and body are interconnected and the importance of creativity, play and a holistic, embodied approach to the process of healing.

Practice description

It can be a big step to seek and start counselling, so going at your own pace and finding the right therapist is all part of the process. I hope to allow you to explore what is going on for you with warmth, compassion and acceptance, including all aspects of your identity such as race, culture, gender identity, disability, neurodiversity, social class and sexuality. I see it as my responsibility to educate myself about the importance of our differences in these ways in relation to your experience and our relationship and I am committed to anti-oppressive practice and being affirmative of your identity.

I adhere to the ±«ÓãÊÓƵethical framework and engage in regular supervision to ensure I practice safely and ethically to support you.
