About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor who works creatively with both adults and children. My approach draws from a range of therapeutic models, allowing me to tailor sessions to the unique needs of each individual. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard, supported, and safe.
I believe in a holistic approach to wellbeing, recognising the deep connection between mind and body. Whether working with grief, trauma, anxiety, or life transitions, I aim to support the whole person, not just the problem.
My background includes extensive experience working with the Samaritans, where I held multiple roles, and I have supported young people through The Prince’s Trust and in schools as a member of the learning support team. I have a level 4 in learning support and a top-up degree in Managing children and young people and mental health, alongside my Foundation degree in integrative counselling.
I also work for the railway, where I was part of the incident care team and became a leader for many years, I was trained in delivering humanitarian support to those involved in incidents within the railway setting and was a coach for many years, delivering safety information to members of staff and assessing them on their roles. I believe counselling and coaching can work well together.
My ongoing learning and development include CBT, DBT, bereavement and loss, somatic therapy, Gestalt, PTSD, Shadow work, Neurodiverse, VR therapy and Child development.
I hold a level 2 in safeguarding children and young people, DBS checked for adults and children and hold indemnity insurance.
I have a particular interest and expertise in working with bereavement, traumatic loss, complex grief, anxiety, suicide and self-harm. I aim to provide a therapeutic relationship that supports healing, growth, and greater self-awareness.
Practice description
I offer a safe, dedicated room within my home, with its own private entrance. It’s designed to be a calm, welcoming environment where clients can feel at ease. The room is equipped for creative ways of working using art, play, or other expressive tools as well as traditional talk therapy.
My first session
I offer an initial consultation on the phone, free of charge, so you are able to get a sense of whether I am the right person for you.
All counsellors work differently, and I will only want the best for you, so it will be a chance for you to make an informed decision about what works best for you. It's your healing journey, and it's important you feel comfortable.
