Online & Telephone Counselling Across the UK

About me and my therapy practice

My Sessions

My name is Lynda Peters, and I am an online and telephone counsellor based in the West Midlands. I am trained as a person-centred counsellor. This means my sessions are client-led, with no expectations, goals, homework, or lengthy assessments before counselling begins. Sessions move at your pace and in your own time. It is a space chosen by you where you can pause, reflect, and feel heard, seen, and valued.

Your reasons for seeking counselling will be met with empathy, understanding, and without judgement. You may not always know how you feel or how to put your experiences into words – and that's okay. Together, when you are ready, we can explore your thoughts and feelings in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful for you.

My Experience

Within my private practice, I have supported adults aged 18 and over with a range of emotional and personal difficulties. My clients come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and genders, each bringing their own unique experiences and reasons for seeking support. Whether you have a specific issue you would like to explore or are simply looking for a space to talk, you are welcome.

My private practice also supports university students, both online and in person, to navigate the academic, practical, and emotional challenges of university life.

I also support secondary students online with their emotional wellbeing, friendships, neurodiversity, peer relationships, study and exam pressures, and the everyday challenges that can arise during adolescence.

I have also worked alongside mental health charities as a counsellor, within a community setting, supporting adults with a range of emotional and personal difficulties.

There are many reasons for counselling, regardless of age, gender or culture. If you are unsure if I can meet your specific needs, please get in touch.

Practice description

About My Practice

I am an online and telephone counsellor only, and I am currently unable to provide face-to-face sessions. Telephone counselling can take place in a location of your choice; however, it is advised that it takes place without distractions and in a private and confidential space. I am unable to provide sessions while you are travelling, or at a place of employment during working hours. If you prefer online sessions, I am available via a counselling platform. For your convenience I am also available through Microsoft Teams. Counselling sessions aim to provide you with a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in your own time and at your own pace. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please let me know.

My first session

My first session

Our first meeting together gives you the opportunity to ask questions about me, my modality and my practice to help you consider if I am the right person to support you with your reason for counselling.

If you decide at any time that I can support you, we can arrange a time and date for the sessions that suits your needs and requirements (subject to availability)

I appreciate and understand that your first counselling session can bring feelings of anxiety and vulnerability. You may feel unsure or know what to say or how to say it - both are completely ok. There is no expectation for you to reveal your reasons for counselling before you are ready. The topic of conversation is always your choice, in your own way, every time.

For this reason, I also now offer sessions that differ in length: 50 minutes, 90 minutes, and 2 hours. This flexibility gives you more opportunity to discuss your situation at a pace that suits you, with no standard session time constraints. Counselling sessions are usually held weekly and last 50 minutes. The number of sessions you wish to complete is your choice and may depend on the complexity or levels of support you may need. When you feel ready to end counselling, you are welcome to discuss this at any time. Although sessions can end immediately, many people find a final session helpful to reflect on their journey, acknowledge their progress, and consider life after counselling.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch.
