About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Coco. I am a Humanistic therapist with a warm, honest and empowering approach, using person centred and somatic modalities, creating a dedicated space to work through present or past issues. I can help with anxiety, low self-confidence, loneliness, grief, relationship troubles or exploring gender and sexuality. Or maybe you just need more ways to cope with daily life, overwhelming emotions and a busy brain. I take into consideration the limits and struggles of systematic and oppressive societal conditions that leave us feeling more stuck or discriminated.

Outside of modalities and qualifications, the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship; the trust that is built, the safety that is felt and the ability to connect deeply and honestly in the room, to allow all of our different parts to be seen, heard and validated.

I welcome anyone to get in touch, including those from the LGBTQ+ community, and I also have a Sex Positive approach. Please reach out if you have any questions or want more info. I look forward to hearing from you.

Practice description

I am trained and qualified in Humanistic Counselling & Psychotherapy at Brighton University. My approach is Person Centred, relational and somatic; I include the mind-body experience in our time together.

I volunteered with MindOut as a counsellor for more than two years offering support to LGBTQ+ adults.

I previously worked in schools and nurseries, providing care and support in child development, including children with SEN needs and those from traumatic backgrounds.

Before my Counselling and Therapy Diploma, I studied English Literature at degree level and gained an MA in Creative Writing. Expression and having a voice is important to me, and it is just as important that my clients can have expression and a voice in the room with me.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute phone or Teams consultation to see if we'd like to work together. The first session will involve a brief assessment where I can get a sense of where you're at and what you'd like to explore. Sessions will be on the same day and time on a weekly basis.
