About me and my therapy practice

Embarking on the counselling journey can be significant, demonstrating your commitment to personal growth. To help you take this step, I offer a free consultation as I believe that trust and genuine connection are the cornerstones of a meaningful therapeutic relationship. This is an opportunity for you to express your counselling goals, ask any questions, and see if you would like us to work together.

My motivation to train as a counsellor grew from my own therapy experience. During a difficult time, when I felt as though everything in my life was unravelling, I received the support I needed, which helped me gain clarity and a deeper understanding of myself. This transformation inspired me to help others find their path to authenticity and meaningful change.

I offer flexible therapy tailored to fit into your schedule. Alongside face-to-face sessions, I provide online and telephone counselling, allowing you to access professional support from the comfort of your own space, at a time that works for you. I also offer walk-and-talk therapy for those who find movement and nature helpful in the therapeutic process.

Sessions last for 50 minutes and are either long- or short-term - please visit my for more information.

Practice description

My non-directive counselling approach creates a safe, confidential, and empathic space for you to explore and understand the challenges in your life. This approach empowers you to find solutions and make the changes you desire without pressure or judgment.

I trained as a person-centred counsellor, although I may integrate to fit your requirements. I often integrate somatic and creative approaches, thoughtfully tailored to each client’s unique needs. Creative work can help surface emotions that are difficult to express verbally, offering a bridge to the unconscious, deepening self-understanding, and supporting emotional regulation. Somatic work helps reconnect with the body’s wisdom, fostering awareness of physical sensations, releasing stored tension, and building a greater sense of safety and presence.

When working with trauma, I use trauma-informed principles, gently creating a safe and supportive space where your pace and needs are honoured. This approach recognises how trauma can affect both the body and mind, nurturing healing that’s empowering and whole, without needing to relive the experience.

To offer my clients the best possible service, I focus on self-improvement by continuing my professional development (CPD) and attending regular supervision.

I currently volunteer as a counsellor at St Peter & St James Hospice, working with people who are bereaved, terminally ill, carers, and the families affected. I also volunteered as a Samaritan, supporting people in a crisis for over two years. In both of these environments, I have worked with a range of issues.
