About me and my therapy practice

Before I get into the lovely corporate spiel I'll just say that fundamentally I am a human being and believe that the core aspect of therapy is a conversation between two human beings. So I'll actually treat you as a human being.

I am a qualified integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, holding an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling awarded in 2022. Since qualifying, I have gained extensive experience working in charities and within the NHS, working within the world of addiction. Throughout this period I also worked with multiple other secondary issues for clients such as relationship issues/stress and anxiety as well as depression.

My core approach is person-centred, rooted in the belief that you are the expert in your own life. I provide a safe, non-judgemental, and empathic space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace, feeling truly heard and understood. Empathy and genuine understanding form the foundation of how I work.

While person-centred therapy is at the heart of my practice, I draw flexibly on other approaches if they might be beneficial for you. This might include elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support practical strategies for managing thoughts, feelings, or behaviours, always tailored to what feels right and beneficial in our work together.

Practice description

I hold a deep interest in attachment theory and firmly believe that all behaviour makes sense in context and if we don't understand the behaviour we're simply missing the correct context for it!

Whether you're seeking support with addiction, emotional wellbeing, life transitions, communication issues or simply a space to be yourself without pressure (or even vent, believe me I understand the value of a good confidential space to vent!), I am committed to working alongside you with respect, warmth, and dedication to your process and unique circumstances.

I offer an introduction videocall to see if therapy with myself is the right fit for you, I’m very aware not everyone gels with everyone!

If this resonates with you, please feel free to get in touch — I'd be glad to discuss how we might work together :)

My first session

I currently solely work online and as such would conduct sessions over zoom. I'll happily use other programs I'll just need to learn how to use them first but zoom is my go to service.

Before beginning therapy I have a brief assessment but this is not very in-depth as I often don't think words convey things as well as speaking in person.

The one aspect I do require is the signing of the contract and emergency contact details should there be a safeguarding risk such as imminent suicide risk or safeguarding to others as well as yourself.
