About me and my therapy practice

Hello,

I’m Patricia, a Brazilian psychotherapist based in England, offering sessions in both Portuguese and English and working online with adults and young adults (17+).

I completed my undergraduate degree (2009–2015) and Master’s degree (2016–2018) in Psychology in Brazil. My studies and clinical practice are grounded in a Jungian approach.

In the clinical field, I have undertaken studies focused on depression, anxiety, trauma and its impact, human development across childhood, adolescence and adulthood, expressive work through art, cultural studies and subjectivity, as well as gender and subjectivities. I have also engaged in studies related to feminism, abusive relationships and racism.

I have over 12 years of experience in psychotherapy, working with children, adolescents and adults.

Practice description

My work is centred on talking, listening and exploring together. Rather than focusing on quick solutions, we can look more deeply at what is happening in your life, helping you develop greater awareness and self-knowledge while also bringing attention to unconscious patterns and processes that may be influencing the way you feel and experience your life.

Since moving to England, I have had the opportunity to work with people living in different parts of the world and from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. This experience has deepened my understanding of how culture, language, migration and cultural differences can affect our emotional lives and our sense of who we are.

My work is grounded in Jungian theory, which I have continued to study throughout my career through courses, ongoing study groups, seminars, workshops and conferences. My practice is also influenced by Carl Rogers' person-centred approach.

My first session

I usually offer a free 25–30 minute initial consultation, giving us an opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and see whether we feel we could work well together.

• I hold a limited number of reduced-fee sessions. If cost is a barrier, you are welcome to enquire about current availability.
