About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Laura and I am a qualified and registered person-centred Psychotherapist. I hold an MA from the University of Nottingham and have experience in supporting autistic individuals and those navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, motherhood, low self-esteem and stress.
I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, supported, and accepted just as you are. My approach is person-centred, meaning I believe in your capacity for growth and healing when given the right conditions. I will walk alongside you with empathy, honesty, and respect, supporting you in exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
I work with adults facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and the complex realities of motherhood. I also offer affirming support to autistic individuals, working from a neurodiversity-affirmative perspective that respects difference and values your lived experience.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of space to reflect, therapy can offer a grounding and empowering experience. I aim to create a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment where you can explore what matters most to you.
Sessions are available online or over the phone, and I also offer walk and talk therapy for those who feel more at ease in a natural setting. If this is something you’re interested in, feel free to enquire for more details
Practice description
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s important that you feel safe, seen, and supported in the process. My practice is grounded in the belief that every person deserves the space to be listened to with care, empathy, and respect. You can expect a calm, welcoming environment where you’re free to bring whatever is going on for you - whether it’s something specific or just a general sense that things aren’t quite right.
In our sessions, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences together. I don’t offer advice or try to ‘fix’ you - instead, I’ll support you in reconnecting with your own inner resources and developing greater clarity, self-understanding, and self-trust. Therapy is your space, and it moves at your pace.
My practice is inclusive and affirming. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and identities, and I work in a neurodiversity-affirmative way that values difference and authenticity.
Sessions are available online or in-person, depending on your preference. I also offer walk and talk therapy for those who find movement and nature helpful in processing and reflecting.
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy - whether you’re navigating change, feeling emotionally stuck, or seeking greater self-awareness, this can be a space to slow down and focus on you. If you have any questions about how we might work together, you’re welcome to get in touch.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone or video call before you decide whether to book a first session. This gives you a chance to ask any questions, talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, and get a sense of how I work. It’s also an opportunity for us both to see whether we feel like a good fit. There’s no pressure to commit - the space is yours to explore whether therapy with me feels right for you.
If you choose to move forward, our first full session will be 50 minutes and is charged at my standard rate (unless you qualify for a discounted rate). During this initial session, we’ll begin to get to know each other more deeply and talk about what you’d like to focus on in therapy. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance - you’re welcome to bring whatever feels important or relevant to you.
I don’t use formal assessments or diagnostic tools, but I may ask some gentle questions to better understand your background and what’s going on for you. The pace is guided by you, and there’s no expectation to share more than you feel comfortable with.
Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after a break, I aim to make the process feel as welcoming and supportive as possible from the start.
