As of July 2025 I have 2 spaces available in the beautiful Manchester Square therapy room. A bright spacious room in a Georgian building.

I am a 5 minute walk from Bond St tube.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a spacious session where I can feel rested, attentive and curious with you. All sessions are a full 60 minutes, and to support myself, so I can be the best for you I leave a full 30 minutes between every client. This way, I have time with you in mind before and after each session, and still have space for the next person.

I have been trained as an integrative counsellor, initially from a person-centred and existential background, and more recently informed by trauma, internal family systems and psychodynamic approaches. However, as a therapist, I keep a broad curiosity about helpful ways of working. I will work with you to clarify your concern and explore the most appropriate solutions that suit your individual needs.

I am open to supporting you however you have come to identify yourself. I am willing to explore the painful issues of oppression including race, gender, sexuality, class and ability and will provide a safe space for you to attend to difficult and/or complex experiences and feelings.

I like to review our work together regularly to ensure that your needs are being met in the best way for you. This also allows for a change in focus as your thoughts about your counselling and therapy needs shift over time.

I am happy to work on a focused short-term issue with you and equally willing to work with establishing more long-term changes. Where work is longer term, I offer the option to create a staggered ending, where we reduce to bi-weekly and then monthly for a limited period. This allows space for reflection as you practice and embed any changes you have decided on.

Practice description

I think human experience is complex and I am curious about how our early experiences, and the society we live in affect us and inform the way we see ourselves and how we construct our reality. I am particularly interested in our relationships with power and hierarchies and the impact these can have on our lives.

I am a white, 62 year old cis(ish) gendered woman with a fluid sexuality, and have been exploring my own relationship to power and privilege for almost 40 years. I recognise there are many deeply nuanced ways to experience and consider who and how we are as people and the relationships between us and the communities within which we live.

I attempt to provide a space safe enough to be able to talk about any difficulty, experience or concern with genuine care, curiosity and acceptance.

I will respond to your individual needs with sensitivity, listening deeply enough to understand what your experience means to you; whether you want to find a way to manage your feelings or thoughts, or resolve an internal conflict, or to explore a traumatic experience, or gain a better understanding of yourself and your life in context. Whatever you decide to bring I will listen and respond with compassion, also supporting you develop this for yourself.

I believe that therapeutic change and healing can happen in different ways, by changing our understanding, developing our awareness and our relationship with ourselves, our bodies, our communities, through giving voice to unexpressed feelings, and sometimes by changing our circumstances.

I also recognise that change can feel scary and alarming. This is why I respect our protective mechanisms and will work with your current reality, supporting your resilience and empowering your choices about what, how and if to make changes.

If, during our work you realise that you need something different, I am connected with some excellent therapists from diverse communities, so I can also make onward referrals.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to enable us to check if I am a 'good fit' for your needs.

I aim to make the first session a gentle and human process, where you have space to share your initial aims for therapy. This session is really about you and what you are wanting to do or are hoping to gain from our work together, exploring both your resilience and vulnerabilities.

In my experience what people want form therapy can change over time so it can be helpful to make a plan, but to hold it lightly as a guide and to review this as we get to know each other better.

I realise it can take time for people to feel safe, and you may want to know me better before you risk some of your deeper thoughts or fears. This is completely normal.

I will stay alert to any potential risks you may face, and on the rare occasions where safety feels like an issue, I want to keep this a collaborative process where possible. Developing a shared agreement with you to manage any risks, and maintain your sense of personal agency is important to me.

When you enlist my help I will email you a document outlining what we have agreed, and send you the ±«ÓãÊÓƵethical standards and my digital policy if arranging online therapy.
