About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP‑registered Integrative Counsellor and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) with extensive experience in NHS and community settings. My work centres on supporting quiet burden carriers, people who hold their struggles silently while appearing composed on the outside, often carrying emotional weight shaped by culture, identity, faith and lived experience.
I offer a steady, compassionate space for adults navigating emotional overwhelm, anxiety, identity‑related experiences, relationship patterns or periods of feeling stuck. My integrative approach blends relational, exploratory counselling with evidence‑based CBT‑aligned strategies, allowing you to choose a deeper, open‑ended process, a more structured short‑term focus, or a blend of both.
Sessions are paced collaboratively, with attention to how past experiences shape the present and how thoughts, feelings and behaviours interact. I work in a culturally informed and identity‑affirming way, recognising the wider contexts that influence how you move through the world.
I aim to provide a grounded, warm therapeutic relationship where you don't have to be the one holding it all together, can explore what feels most important, develop clearer self‑understanding and build tools that support lasting change.
Practice description
My practice offers a calm, steady space for quiet burden carriers and others who tend to hold their experiences quietly. It’s a place where you can set things down, speak openly and explore what usually stays beneath the surface. Sessions unfold gently, at a pace that feels safe, giving room to both the weight of what you’re carrying and the strength it has taken to carry it.
The space we create together is private and confidential. I work with care and attentiveness, noticing not just what you share but how you’ve learned to hold yourself together. My stance is identity‑aware and culturally sensitive, honouring the contexts that shape your inner world and relationships.
You can expect a grounded, respectful environment where your feelings are met with warmth, curiosity and steadiness, a place where you don’t have to manage everything on your own.
My first session
I offer online and telephone sessions, giving you flexibility to access therapy in a way that feels most comfortable for you.
Before beginning therapy, I provide a free 20-minute introductory call. This gives us both a little more time to get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit and for you to ask any initial questions about how I work.
If you choose to begin therapy, our first full session will be an assessment session. During this session, we explore the issues you’re bringing, your hopes and expectations for counselling, and any goals you may have in further depth. This helps us understand whether working together feels right and how best to shape the sessions to support you.
If we agree to continue, we will then meet weekly for regular therapy sessions. In our early work, we will go through the counselling agreement, discuss confidentiality, and outline what you can expect from our sessions. This creates a clear, steady foundation for our work together.
