About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Katie. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, and looking through therapist profiles can soon feel overwhelming. I hope this gives you a sense of how I work and what to expect. Whether you're facing a life transition, finding life challenging, or not quite feeling like yourself, therapy offers a supportive space to pause and focus on you.
I offer one-to-one therapy for adults (18+), either face-to-face in a private garden office or online via Microsoft Teams. We’ll work at your pace, focusing on what feels most important to you.
How I work
Personal therapy has been a meaningful part of my own life, and that experience shapes how I work. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can speak openly, without judgment. I believe the relationship we build is central to meaningful change. I take an active role in sessions, offering insights, reflections, and gentle challenges, while also allowing space and silence when needed. I won’t tell you what to do, but I’ll be alongside you as you make sense of your experiences.
Therapeutic Approach
I primarily use Transactional Analysis (TA), which is a talking therapy that looks at how our early experiences shape who we are today. I value TA for its depth and focus on lasting change. It helps us understand not just what’s going on, but why, connecting past patterns with present challenges so we can make more conscious, positive choices.
Areas I Work With:
- People-pleasing & boundaries
- Perfectionism, overthinking & control
- Anxiety & depression
- Emotional vulnerability
- Grief & loss
Support for Parents
I offer tailored therapy support for mums, dads, birth parents, and caregivers. Together, we’ll explore the identity shifts of parenthood and challenge the myth of the “perfect parent.” Our work will focus on self-compassion and helping you reconnect with the kind of parent you want to be, not the parent you think you should be. Practice description
My private practice is based in a garden office, which is separate from my home with private access. Online appointments are offered via the online platform Microsoft Teams.
The practice is located half a mile from Bramhall village centre, close to the Manchester Eastern Link Airport Road (SK7). It is also within easy reach of Woodford, Hazel Grove, Cheadle Hulme and Handforth. It is easily reached by bus services, train and car. Free street parking is available nearby.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone or online (via Zoom or Microsoft Teams). It’s a chance for us to meet and for you to share a little about what’s brought you to therapy—there’s no pressure to continue afterwards.
If my approach sounds like a good fit, feel free to get in touch. I may not always be able to answer right away, but please leave a message and I’ll aim to get back to you within 48 hours. You’re welcome to call, text, WhatsApp, or email—whatever works best for you.
