About me and my therapy practice
Has a recent or past negative experience left you feeling lost or stuck? Maybe you’ve tried to just get on with life but inside you still feel broken, replaying events in your mind and asking yourself why or how this happened. Perhaps you know what happened to you was traumatic or maybe you’ve told yourself it “wasn’t that bad”. Some days you seem to feel all the emotions all at once, and other days you feel nothing at all. Other people simply don’t understand, which may leave you feeling alone and like you don’t matter. Most things in your life, your relationships, work or education might be affected and you long to break free from it all.
You are not alone and you do matter. You deserve freedom and peace from your past experiences and the right therapist can support you on this journey.
Whilst starting therapy can at first feel scary, having a private space that is just yours, where you can focus on yourself and explore your past, present and future can be a real relief. Some sessions are more serious and emotive, but smiles, laughter and the occasional swear are not at all uncommon.
Experience
I have gained my experience through a variety of roles including as registered nurse in NHS public, forensic and mental health services, trainee and volunteer therapist within trauma, sexual violence and eating disorder services, charity trustee for 5+ years, and within my private therapy practice, working with adults, children and young people and groups.
Qualifications
MSc Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy
PG Diploma Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy
AIM Award - Sexual Abuse Counselling
Additional Qualifications: PG Diploma – Public Health Nursing, BSc – Adult Nursing
Practice description
I work online and love this way of providing therapy. The benefits of using technology to connect means you can have therapy wherever you can create a confidential space, be it at work, a quiet park, or at home in comfortable pyjamas, hot drink in hand and your dog or cat by your side.
How I work
I will listen, ask questions, and try to understand how your experiences impact your life. We will work together to address the issues born out of your experiences, you remain in control of what we do or don't talk about. I work in a trauma-informed way, which very simply means I have deep understanding of the impact of trauma on peoples lives and this knowledge and empathy is at the heart of how I work with people and how I understand the world, others and myself. I am trained in three different approaches, meaning I can tailor your therapy to suit you, enabling you to confidently begin to move forwards, knowing you are worthy of a life worth living.
I have specific experience and training in providing therapy for sexual trauma, which includes sexual abuse / assault / rape. Some people can struggle to label or name their experience, but if you have been subjected to any unwanted sexual experience then you belong here and are deserving of support and healing.
I also work with different types of negative life experiences, including but not limited to, childhood abuse or neglect, traumatic events, serious accidents or illnesses and natural disasters. I am trained in the Rewind technique for PTSD.
My first session
I understand thinking about starting therapy is an anxious process, especially if you have never experienced it before. There are a lot of options and just browsing therapists’ profiles can feel overwhelming and draining. If you connect with my profile and choose to contact me, I will respond within 48 hours during office hours, but I ideally try to respond as soon as possible.
You are welcome to book a free no-obligation 20-minute video or telephone appointment, so we can meet and see if the way I work suits you. If my experience, style or our availability doesn't match, I am happy to offer guidance or alternative recommendations.

About me and my therapy practice
I work with sensitive, thoughtful, perfectionistic adults who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or quietly traumatised - even when they look like they’re coping.
Do you feel like you're always “on”? Always thinking, over-preparing, over-accommodating, yet still wondering if it’s enough? Maybe you lie awake replaying conversations or second-guessing your decisions, caught between pressure to keep going and a longing to just stop.
You might look like you’re coping, even excelling, but inside, it’s different. There’s anxiety that never fully lifts. Exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix. A quiet sense that you’re not allowed to break down, not when everyone else relies on you. You keep going. But it’s costing you.
You might be carrying things you’ve never fully named. A childhood that left you hyper-independent. A relationship where your boundaries slowly eroded. An experience that you don't name as trauma but you still feel the effects of. You’ve told yourself to move on... but it lingers.
Or maybe the world itself feels too much. Loud, unjust, overstimulating. You feel everything. Injustice, cruelty, emotional undercurrents others miss. You’ve been called sensitive, intense, too much, and part of you wonders if they’re right.
This is where therapy can help. I offer space for the quietly overwhelmed and the silently strong, for people who carry a lot, feel deeply, and often support everyone but themselves. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, emotional burnout, sexual trauma, or are exploring their identity as neurodivergent or highly sensitive. They don’t want quick fixes or symptom checklists they want depth, understanding, and a place to untangle what they’ve been holding alone for too long.
If this resonates, you're not broken, you're just carrying too much. You don’t have to keep holding it all on your own.
Practice description
I’m a registered nurse and integrative psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience across the NHS, trauma services, mental health, and private practice. My background includes working in specialist nursing roles, child mental health, sexual violence charities, forensic settings, and safeguarding roles and now I specialise in therapy for people who feel “too much,” carry hidden trauma, measure their worth in achievement, or live in constant anxiety or emotional overload - including those whose are Autistic, AuDHD or ADHD.
I work online with clients across the UK, and I love this way of providing therapy. It means you can access support wherever you feel most safe, whether that’s a quiet room, a parked car, or at home in pyjamas, hot drink in hand and your dog or cat curled beside you. This format allows for deep, consistent work that fits into real life. I hold sessions via Zoom, Monday to Wednesday and offer both long-term and short-term work.
My approach is relational, compassionate and non-clinical. I don’t sit behind a clipboard with a neutral face, I show up as a human, with warmth and curiosity. I draw from several therapeutic models, including person-centred, CBT, attachment theory and compassion-focused therapy, meaning I tailor each session to you rather than fitting you into a framework. I also offer the Rewind technique for trauma and PTSD.
I specialise in helping people who feel like they’re “too much” - too emotional, too anxious, too intense, or who carry shame about past trauma, burnout, or not coping. I understand the inner tension of being high-functioning but emotionally struggling. Therapy with me is about slowly unravelling those layers, reconnecting with your needs, and relating to yourself with more kindness than pressure.
This isn’t surface-level work. If you want therapy that goes deeper, that holds space for your complexity, and that helps you feel less alone in your inner world — I’d love to hear from you.

Your first 1–2 sessions will be assessment sessions, where we get to know each other and begin exploring what’s bringing you to therapy. There’s no pressure to share everything at once, we’ll go at your pace. I’ll ask some gentle questions to understand your background, current challenges, and what you’re hoping for from our work together. The assessment is holistic and will look at others factors that could be contributing to how you are feeling, and together we will set intentions for our work. I will regularly check in with you to ensure you are finding therapy valuable or whether we need to take a different approach. This is a collaborative process and I look forward to hopefully welcoming you in my online therapy space soon.
