About me and my therapy practice

I specialise in work with primary-aged children( 4–11) with continuation into secondary school where appropriate.

I offer a safe creative space where children can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. Using an integrative approach combining play, creativity and talk therapy I help children understand emotions, build confidence and develop healthy ways of coping. Many of the children I support have an ADHD or Autism diagnosis or are waiting for an assessment.

Practice description

I am a trauma-informed child counsellor supporting children aged 4-11 years. With seventeen years’ of experience as a primary school teacher and more than six as a child counsellor, I bring a deep understanding of child development, behaviour, and the school environment into my therapeutic work.

Using an integrative approach that combines play, creative work, and talking therapy, I provide a safe and supportive space where children can understand and express their emotions, develop emotional regulation, build confidence and strengthen resilience.

Over the past six years, I have worked with many children, alongside their families or school staff to provide support for a wide range of emotional, social and behavioural needs.

How I work with children

Every child is unique, so sessions are tailored to their individual emotional, social, and behavioural needs. l use an integrative approach, which may include: play therapy techniques, creative and art-based expression and talking therapy.

Sessions are confidential on a one-to-one basis between your child and myself.  However, you will be involved in the therapeutic process through regular review meetings, every six sessions, to discuss your child’s progress.

My first session

To begin, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation, giving you the opportunity to share what’s been happening for your child, ask any questions and find out more about how I work.

Following this, we can then book a 50 minute parent consultation to discuss your child's needs further and the best way forward.
