About me and my therapy practice
I first came to psychotherapy over 20 years ago as a client, and it was a life-changing experience. Therapy gave me clarity during chaos, and it's this transformational potential I now strive to offer others. My personal journey sparked a deep commitment to supporting people in their healing, and I bring this perspective to every part of my work.
I am a qualified relational therapist with a Level 5 Diploma in Relational Therapy. I work with individuals and couples using a trauma-informed approach that recognises the impact of past experiences on present relationships and emotional wellbeing. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow its ethical framework.
My areas of specialism include domestic abuse, coercive control, dysfunctional relationships, addiction, and childhood trauma. I bring both professional training and lived experience to these areas, which helps me build authentic, empathetic, and effective relationships with clients.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in sales and administration within global businesses. For the past five years, I’ve also worked in the voluntary sector across South London. These experiences have given me strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Since 2019, I’ve worked with Sutton Women’s Centre, delivering the Freedom Program, self-esteem and women-only support groups. I’ve also provided domestic abuse training for staff within The London Borough of Sutton.
My practice is relational and client-led, grounded in a deep understanding of trauma and its long-term effects. My own life experiences, both in the UK and abroad, inform a compassionate and non-judgemental style—helping clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to make meaningful change.
