About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Fiona.

Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or just lost? Perhaps intense emotions from past trauma are hard to manage. You're not alone if these experiences leave you stuck, exhausted, or unsure. I offer a safe space to gently unravel these complexities.

I've dedicated years to supporting individuals through deep emotional pain. My extensive practice includes working with those navigating life-limiting illness, bereavement, fertility struggles, and baby loss. These moments are isolating, and I offer a steady, compassionate presence to help you. My experience highlights the immense courage it takes to seek support.

This is your dedicated space. Come as you are, no polished story needed. Speak freely, explore gently, and make sense of what feels heavy. You'll always be met with warmth, deep empathy, and unwavering respect, free from judgement. Your feelings will be truly heard.

Having walked my own therapeutic journey, I understand how daunting that first step feels. Reaching out was my gateway to inner strength and self-understanding. I bring this personal insight, alongside my professional expertise, to our sessions with humility and care, ensuring you feel understood.

Therapy isn't about quick fixes; it's about showing up to begin your unique journey of discovery, healing, and reconnection. If drawn to creative expression, I offer optional creative interventions (visual, written, sensory). There's no pressure; our work adapts to what feels right. My priority is your safety and comfort.

Ready to take that vital first step towards feeling lighter and more grounded? I warmly invite you to contact me today to discuss how we can begin this meaningful journey together.

Practice description

You'll find a warm, non-judgmental space where you can speak freely and feel truly heard. My dedicated, discrete therapy room is on the first floor, and I'll make sure the kettle is on to welcome you. I prioritize deep empathy and respect. If accessibility is difficult for you, I am able to arrange for the use of a downstairs room instead with advance notice.

While my core approach is person-centred, focusing on your lead, I collaboratively introduce other supportive tools, including creative ways of working, to ensure our therapy is uniquely tailored. This flexibility allows us to find what genuinely helps you to explore and heal.

My practice focuses on helping clients address the echoes of past trauma, persistent emotional overwhelm, and feelings of being stuck due to complex life experiences. I also bring specialized expertise in supporting individuals through life-limiting illness, bereavement, and the profound grief of baby loss.

My first session

Beginning therapy can feel daunting, and it is entirely normal to arrive with uncertainty. You will be welcomed into a calm, non-judgemental space where you are invited to proceed at your own pace. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and gently explore what has brought you to counselling.

There's no expectation to arrive with a perfectly articulated narrative or clear-cut goals. Whether you are carrying something very specific or struggling to articulate your feelings, everything you share will be met with care and respect. We will also discuss practical details such as confidentiality, professional boundaries, and how we will work together, ensuring you feel supported and informed from the outset.

Each appointment lasts up to 50 minutes, providing ample time to settle in, speak freely, and begin shaping your therapeutic journey without pressure.

Above all, this initial step is about creating a safe and supportive environment where you can feel understood and gently accompanied, whatever you may be navigating.

About me and my therapy practice

I hold an Advanced Specialist Diploma in Clinical and Creative Supervision. For several years, I've run my private practice part-time, alongside supporting those affected by life-limiting illnesses at our local hospice. This diverse experience enriches my understanding of private practice and deep emotional work.

My Supervisory Approach

My primary framework is the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, offering a comprehensive lens for your client work. While my core approach remains person-centred, focusing on your lead, I collaboratively introduce other supportive tools, including creative ways of working. This flexibility ensures our supervision is uniquely tailored to enhance your practice and personal growth.

What I Offer You as a Supervisee

I offer holistic support, focusing on both your client work and professional development. I'm passionate about encouraging excellent professional practice and fostering your growth as a practitioner.

We'll openly explore your supervision aspirations, ensuring our work is uniquely tailored. Together, we'll create a dynamic space to deepen self-understanding, refine your individual style, and share the joys and challenges of client work. My aim is to help you cultivate your "internal supervisor," fostering greater self-awareness and effectiveness.
