About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Accredited therapeutic Integrative Counsellor supporting Children, Adolescents and Adults, either face to face, by telephone, online or home visits.
Are you or your child finding it difficult to cope or manage with everyday situations and finding life a struggle?
Many of us can feel overwhelmed but unsure of how to deal with these thoughts or feelings. Life is sometimes difficult where issues from the past or in the present can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, confused, depressed or detached from our feelings?
You may be feeling low and anxious about life in general. There may be physical health symptoms causing concern – not sleeping, being unable to concentrate, tension or headaches.
Talking to someone about your struggles can help. I am fully aware that this may take a great deal of courage to open up and share your experiences to someone - I know because I have been there too. I would like to help and support you through this difficult time.
Together we can explore your issues at your pace, whether this be talking or using creative activities, so you can work towards a more positive future.
I work with a Domestic Abuse organisation offering counselling to adults, children and young people who have been affected by domestic abuse and violence. I have a lot of experience and knowledge in supporting and helping people understand and heal from trauma, abuse or anxiety.
I have experience in ill-health, chronic pain or fatigue, anxiety, stress, bereavement, loss, low mood, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, self-harm or school/work-related issues.
Practice description
I can offer sessions face to face, by telephone, online or home visits.
I work privately in Bolton.
I am available Monday - Friday mornings, afternoons & early evening and Saturday mornings.
As an integrative counsellor, I will listen and support you to understand your experiences, situation or struggles, in a warm, caring, safe, trusting, non-judgemental and confidential space.
I may incorporate other approaches and psycho-education, such as, self-compassion, relaxation, mindfulness, how the brain responds to trauma, coping techniques.
I treat each client with compassion, care and respect, allowing you the space to understand your issues, to become more self-aware and achieve greater independence.
You are welcome to contact me for a free initial consultation or to arrange an appointment where you can get more of a feel of who I am and how I work.
My first session
The main focus of the first session is to develop a safe, trusting relationship where you will feel comfortable to share and explore your concerns, and establish any goals you want from therapy.
These goals may be areas in your life you wish to change, personal growth and awareness or how to accept and let go of issues that are unable to be changed.
We will explore what concerns or difficulties you have that are impacting on your life. You may have had a recent life change that has caused you distress or perhaps a number of problems have been building for a long time.
Some clients may wish to reflect on their earlier life/childhood experiences to establish any impact on their relationships as adults or any unhealthy patterns.
Some clients want to focus on what’s going on now, to find solutions to current difficulties or look at future goals.

Availability
I'm available for appointments Monday to Friday all day including evenings and Saturday mornings for in person, online or walk & talk sessions.
To help you decide if I’m the right fit, I offer a free 15-minute discovery call. This is a relaxed chance to meet, ask questions and discuss what you’re looking for in supervision.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an Accredited psychotherapist and qualified supervisor with a wealth of counselling experience working with adults, adolescents and children.
Having worked in schools, Domestic Abuse organisation, Looked After Children services (foster and residential), EAPS, voluntary settings, solicitors, I have gained a substantial amount of experience of working within a range of sectors and organisations.
I offer clinical supervision for qualified therapists, students in training, and professionals in education, care, and health sectors, including therapists, mental health workers, teachers, social workers, and nurses. Research indicates that regular, independent clinical supervision reduces risks of unethical practice and lowers staff compassion fatigue and burnout.
Effective supervisors possess clinical expertise, offer emotional support, and foster positive working relationships. I bring extensive knowledge and skills to clinical supervision, maintaining empathy and compassion for my supervisees. Flexible in my approach, I believe we can learn from each supervisory session. My goal is to ensure mutual accountability and explore practice and performance.
Practice description
I take an integrative approach, combining Person-Centred Therapy with CBT concepts, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and early attachment theories. I work flexibly based on your needs and client group, creating a safe, non-judgmental space to explore challenges, safely reflect and process the thoughts and feelings evoked through your therapy work, current caseloads, considering ethical practice and boundaries, supporting your professional development to enhance your overall practice and well-being.
I draw on two main models to guide our work together:
• Seven-Eyed Model (Hawkins & Shohet): Focuses on relationships and processes in therapy and supervision.
• Integrated Developmental Model (IDM): Supports supervisees’ growth at different experience levels, focusing on awareness, autonomy, and motivation.
These models help structure supervision while allowing room for adaptability and individualism.
I offer supervision for individuals and groups, either online or in person. Sessions are arranged flexibly to suit your needs and ethical guidelines. To help you decide if I’m the right fit, I offer a free 15-minute discovery call. This is a relaxed chance to meet, ask questions, and discuss what you’re looking for in supervision.
My first session
The first and subsequent sessions are scheduled by mutually agreeing on the date, time, and duration (either 1 hour or 1.5 hours).
Payment terms and rates are established and confirmed. The clinical contract is reviewed, agreed upon, and signed, with any necessary clarifications provided. The supervisee presents an overview of their clinical background and outlines their expectations for the delivery of clinical supervision. We reach mutual agreement in accordance with ethical practices and organisational requirements.
Discussions include note-taking, recording protocols, and the method by which the supervisee will present their client work during sessions. Additionally, risk and safeguarding measures are addressed, and corresponding protocols are mutually agreed upon.
