About me and my therapy practice
I’m Lucy, a counsellor based in Poole who specialises in helping people through bereavement, grief and loss including non-person losses such as the loss of a job, a pet, health or a relationship.
I'm also a qualified CBT therapist and experienced in helping people struggling with stress, anxiety or depression.
Loss and Grief
When we lose a loved one or something important to us, we often grieve, not just for the actual loss itself but for everything else it takes from us. We may grieve for the life we had or the future we thought we’d have, question who we are now or grieve for the person we used to be. We may lose our sense of purpose or direction, or lack the motivation to get back into our lives and rebuild our world again.
Stress, Anxiety and Depression
Stress, anxiety and depression can also take these things from us and stop us living the life we really want to. They can affect us physically too and we may have sleep difficulties, poor concentration, headaches or panic/anxiety attacks or other health issues which further add to our suffering.
If you’re going through any of these things right now, or struggling in a different way, counselling really can help. And when you feel ready, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Practice description
I offer a caring, supportive and confidential space where we can work through the things that matter to you and explore different perspectives and new strategies to help you heal and feel well again. I can work in a number of different ways so that our sessions are always tailored to suit your needs and individual preferences and I will always be guided by you about what works best for you.
I understand how daunting it can be to reach out for help, particularly if you’ve never had counselling before, so we will only ever work in a way that feels right for you and at a speed that feels safe and comfortable.
About Me
I have been counselling since 2018, first in a hospice and with a cancer charity as part of my training and then after I fully qualified in 2020. During that time I also worked within a GP surgery as a Health and Wellbeing Coach helping people struggling with anxiety and depression and other health problems.
In addition to my work here, I also work as a counsellor in a hospice and run a gentle exercise class in a community charity.

Advanced Diploma in Intergrative Counselling

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Level 5
Certificate in Person Centred Creative Art Counselling
Mindfulness Practioner Certificate

My first session
I understand how important it is to find a counsellor you feel safe and comfortable with so I offer a free and confidential 20-minute first telephone session so you can see how you feel about us working together.
On receipt of your enquiry, I will telephone you to arrange a date and time for the call that’s helpful to you where we will talk a little about what you’d like support with and I can answer any questions you may have,
** If you’d prefer me to email you to arrange an initial call, just pop that in your enquiry so I can do that for you.
If you’d like us to work together after the initial call, we will then arrange our first session which can be in person, telephone or online.
