About me and my therapy practice
If you're the person everyone turns to, who supports you?
Many of the people I work with are navigating the demands of family life, relationships, work, and caring responsibilities. Often, they come to counselling because they're ready for a space that's just for them.
Perhaps you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or unsure of what you need anymore. Counselling offers a space that's just for you, where you can slow down, be heard, and begin to make sense of what's happening.
As a ±«ÓãÊÓƵAccredited Counsellor, I offer a warm, compassionate, and supportive space where you can talk openly about what's going on for you. My role isn't to tell you what to do or to have all the answers. Instead, I work alongside you, helping you make sense of your experiences, understand yourself more deeply, and find a way forward that feels right for you.
I am trained as an Integrative Counsellor, with person-centred therapy at the heart of my work. This means I place great importance on building a trusting relationship and creating a space where you feel heard, valued, and understood. I also draw on psychodynamic and CBT approaches when helpful, allowing us to explore both the roots of your difficulties and practical ways of managing them in the present.
Perhaps you've been thinking about counselling for a while, or maybe this is the first time you've considered it. From my own experience of therapy, I understand that reaching out can bring a mixture of emotions. My hope is that you'll feel warmly welcomed, genuinely listened to, and supported from our very first conversation.
Practice description
I work exclusively online with adults from all walks of life.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting many people through difficult periods in their lives. I have extensive experience working with young people and understand how earlier experiences can continue to affect us well into adulthood.
I have a particular interest in supporting women through perimenopause and menopause. This can be a time of significant change, often affecting how we feel about ourselves, our relationships, and our place in the world. I also have experience working with women who have experienced domestic abuse, offering a supportive space to rebuild confidence, reconnect with themselves, and make sense of the impact of those experiences.
Many of the clients I work with come to therapy because they are struggling with anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, or family issues. You may be navigating a difficult relationship with a parent, finding yourself taking on the role of caring for an ageing parent, feeling disconnected from your partner, struggling with your relationship with your children, or simply feeling you've lost sight of yourself. Therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what's happening in your life.
Some people come to counselling with a specific issue they'd like to work through. Others arrive with a feeling that they've lost their way a little or that life has become harder to navigate. Whatever brings you here, we'll start from where you are.
My first session
I know that meeting a counsellor for the first time can feel nerve-wracking, so I aim to make the process as relaxed and welcoming as possible.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll talk about what has brought you to counselling, what's currently happening in your life, and what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no pressure to share everything at once, and we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
The first session is also your opportunity to see how it feels to talk with me. Finding the right counsellor is important, and I believe you should have the space to decide whether I am someone you feel comfortable working with.
By the end of our conversation, you'll have a better feel for what counselling with me might be like and whether it feels right for you.
