Availability

During term time I offer sessions on a Thursday afternoon, Friday day time and I also have some evening availability.  My availability changes slightly during school holidays.

About me and my therapy practice

Currently I work part-time in a secondary school, and have recently received training with creative resources. I have previously worked in the NHS utilising CBT. I'm an Accredited Counsellor and a Supervisor trained from a Diploma in Counselling to an MSc in Psychology. As an integrative counsellor, I tailor my approach to meet your needs.

Practice description

I have lots of experience working with anxiety, low self esteem, low mood, loss and relational problems. I work with young people, adults and couples.

I have worked within the NHS, offering both assessment and evidence-based low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and also delivered group Person Centered therapy for enduring mental health problems for an NHS research study. In my private counselling I also use other modalities including Focusing Oriented Therapy, Solution Focused and Mindfulness. I work closely with my clients to compassionately address issues important to them, such as: identifying worries, understanding emotions, relationships, and problems. In turn, I find that clients are able to better deal with situations.

I have worked with a variety of individuals from various cultures, and religious beliefs. I have helped people to explore their self-worth, security and significance in life.

I provide a confidential, non-judgemental space for my clients, so that they can feel safe to open up.

My first session

In your first session I give you the opportunity to share your story and tell me why you are looking for counselling at this time. I gain an understanding of what you want to gain from a counselling experience, and what you think might be helpful or unhelpful.

I am offering face to face sessions in Kettering, online/telephone and outdoor counselling. I use a secure online video platform for my online work. For my outdoor work we 'walk and talk', or find a bench to sit on. This can be done in a park or rural outdoor setting. My face to face sessions are in a modern wellbeing centre with easy parking outside.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an Accredited Counsellor and a Supervisor. Sessions can be in person in Kettering at NN15 6FD or NN14 1FN; or using an online video platform.

I work integratively, utilising person centred, Focusing, CBT and Transpersonal modalities.

I received training in Transpersonal & Integrative Clinical Supervision by Alkimia Training which comprised of 12 days of in person training modules (72 modular hours), and 18 hours of supervision of case work. This Diploma has enabled me to work successfully as a supervisor.

Practice description

I have worked in the NHS as a clinical supervisor for a research project which looked at the effectiveness of group art therapies in comparison to group person centered counselling. In my role here I supervised the counsellors delivering the person centered counselling groups.

I have also delivered supervision to counsellors on an individual basis in a private setting.

As a counsellor I have gained experience of working in the NHS and Secondary Education. I work with adults, young people and couples. I have previously worked in a variety of roles within IAPT, palliative care, secondary care settings, CAMHS and a staff support hub. I currently work in a Secondary School as well as running my own private practice.

I am currently offering a reduced rate for the first 3 months of supervision of £40 per 1 hour session, which will then rise to £50 thereafter.

Sessions can be for 1hour or 1.5 hours depending on your needs.

In the first session we will discuss a contract for supervision.
