About me and my therapy practice

Unlike a maze with only one path, life offers many possibilities and directions. Yet sometimes, we can feel stuck or overwhelmed. I believe counselling can be deeply beneficial, restorative, and empowering—helping us gain greater awareness and understanding of our experiences.

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist offering therapeutic support to individuals aged 16 and over. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore what’s going on for you at your own pace.

I have experience working with a wide range of difficulties, including:

• Perinatal mental health

• Loss and bereavement

• Stress and anxiety

• Depression

• Relationship issues

• Abuse and trauma

Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to go through it alone. Counselling offers the opportunity to be heard, to reflect, and to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

Practice description

The person-centred approach places the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the counselling process—making it essential that you find the right therapist for you.

One of the first steps toward growth and wellbeing is the ability to be truly open and honest with yourself. To support that, I offer a counselling space that is safe, confidential, and free from judgment. My role is to walk alongside you on your journey, bringing warmth, empathy, and support, and helping to create an environment in which you feel heard and valued.

I believe that every individual holds the potential, value, and inner resources needed for healing and personal growth. Counselling offers the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings, consider your options, and make meaningful choices or changes.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework to ensure the highest standards of professional and ethical practice.

My first session

Your first session is an opportunity to explore why you're seeking therapy, what you hope to gain from it, and how we might work together. I’ll ask a few questions to help us both determine whether we feel comfortable working together, and to ensure that you're being offered the most appropriate support.

If we decide to move forward, we’ll discuss and agree on the practical aspects of our work together. This includes:

• The number and frequency of sessions (weekly or fortnightly)

• Payment arrangements

• What to do if you can’t attend a session

• My cancellation policy

• Confidentiality and how your information is handled

• Record keeping

You’ll receive a written agreement outlining these points, so you have everything clearly set out to refer back to at any time.

You have every right to ask me questions—whether about my qualifications, experience, or the counselling process itself—and I encourage you to do so. Therapy is a very personal and sometimes daunting journey. It can involve exploring painful thoughts, emotions, or decisions, and it’s not uncommon to feel worse before you start to feel better. However, with the right support, this process can be incredibly worthwhile and transformative.

I offer both short-term and long-term counselling, tailored to your needs, on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
