About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am an experienced therapist who helps those struggling with the emotional and psychological difficulties which undermine their enjoyment of life; also those who seek a better understanding of themselves and what makes them ‘tick’.
I work with people who are feeling anxious in it’s various forms. If you are experiencing stress; panic attacks; generalised health anxiety (GAD); or social and health anxiety -to name a few- then I can help you. I also assist those whose behaviour is causing them problems, for instance in relationships, or with coping mechanisms which have become problematic in themselves. If you are experiencing low mood, or sensing a disconnection from yourself, others, or the life you wish you could lead, then I am here to help and support you in making change.
I am a qualified and accredited psychotherapist/counsellor, and I use my Integrative knowledge creatively, which allows me to draw on a range of theory and adapt that to your specific needs. I have great faith in the counselling process, and have seen first hand how it can significantly help people deal with their problems, unlock their true potential, and lead a better life.
Practice description
What you can expect from counselling
You can talk to someone who is highly engaged with you and will listen to you carefully. Someone who understands how difficult life can be, and perhaps how stuck you feel with these problems; sometimes it is better to talk to someone who is not one of the family, or a friend either. We would talk in private, examine and discuss your difficulties, and I would not judge you (and encourage you not to either). Through getting to understand how you are operating in life, and also how you are relating to others, we can form an understanding of your patterns of behaviour, and their source. With a clearer view of yourself, you can start to make choices which are preferable and kinder to yourself, and I will help you build the strength to start new ways of being, and the resilience to progress.
Counselling can give you a greater sense of who you are, how you connect with yourself and others, manage behaviours, and create meaningful change in your life.
My first session
What happens next
If you have had enough of your struggles and distress and decide to get in touch, we would arrange a first session when we would assess if we would like to work together (without any obligation to continue). We would discuss what is concerning you, what you want to get out of counselling, and the basics of the counselling process.
I feel for the unique struggling human being within, so if you are ready, then I am here to help you.
