My first session
Your First Session
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and explore what’s bringing you to therapy. We'll talk about the issues you’d like to work on, your hopes for therapy, and any questions or concerns you might have. It’s also an opportunity for you to see if you feel comfortable with me and my approach and for me to check I am the most appropriate therapist for you.
I’ll usually ask a few questions about your background, current situation, and any previous experiences of therapy.
If we decide to work together, we’ll agree a regular time and format (in-person or online). Some clients come for short-term work, others longer-term – we’ll discuss what feels right for you.

M±«ÓãÊÓƵ(Accred), NCAC, AP (Accred) EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant Supervisor
I’m a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and trainer with over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. I design and deliver bespoke training for therapists, teams, and organisations, with a focus on trauma-informed care, working with neurodivergence, addiction, eating disorders, and complex mental health needs.
As an EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant Supervisor and integrative practitioner, I bring a wide clinical lens and a practical, relational approach to my training. My style is engaging, reflective, and grounded in real-world practice. I aim to create inclusive, learning spaces where practitioners feel safe to think, reflect, and grow — both professionally and personally.
I’ve delivered CPD workshops, clinical skills training, and reflective practice sessions across various settings. Whether I’m working with newly qualified therapists or experienced clinicians, my goal is always to support deeper understanding, greater confidence, and ethical, embodied practice.
Training can be tailored to the needs of your team or service, and is available in-person or online. Recent topics include:

Supervision Bio – Jodie Mainstone
M±«ÓãÊÓƵ(Accred), NCAC, AP (Accred) EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant Supervisor
I’m an experienced integrative psychotherapist and EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant Supervisor, offering reflective, supportive supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists, and mental health professionals. I aim to create a collaborative space where you can bring your clinical work, questions, doubts, and insights — with openness and without judgement.
My supervision practice is trauma-informed, neurodivergence-affirming, and grounded in relational, person-centred values. I draw on extensive experience working of over twenty years in varied settings.
I supervise both integrative practitioners and EMDR therapists — including those in the process of training or working towards ±«ÓãÊÓƵor EMDR accreditation. Supervision with me can support you in clinical reflection, case formulation, ethical decision-making, and professional growth. I aim to meet each supervisee where they are, and support them to develop their own voice and confidence as a practitioner.
