About me and my therapy practice

I am a UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist with 15 years' experience of working with clients in Cambridge. I work with Children, Teenagers, Couples and Parents.

Working with Adults

I offer a friendly, empathic and confidential space to explore with you the difficulties and frustrations you are facing.

As an integrative trained psychotherapist, I bring a range of modalities to our therapeutic journey of understanding and discovery to help you understand more about yourself and your relationships with others. Through our work together, we will figure out what you need to feel more emotionally fulfilled and to build resilience.

Working with Children and Adolescents

I provide a safe, friendly and accepting space for young people to talk and creatively express themselves. Our young are not always able to know why they are experiencing frustrations, low mood, anxiety, being misunderstood and other difficulties, and this can lead to feelings of being unheard and misunderstood.

I work alongside my young clients to guide them in understanding what they are feeling and why, and with this knowledge it is then possible to focus on more positive aspects of themselves and their relationships.

Relationship Therapy

The therapeutic space can provide a safe and confidential environment for both of you to explore your relationship and to look at the dynamics from an independent view point.

Established patterns within your relationship can be explored and understood, giving you the opportunity to change the way you communicate with each other.

Parenting Issues

Many parents or primary carers come to me for help with understanding and managing their child's difficult behaviour or worrying emotional state.

As parents, we become very immersed in our relationships with our children and it can sometimes be very helpful to work with a therapist to look at family dynamics from an objective viewpoint in order to understand why family members behave the way they do.

Practice description

Working with Adults

When you contact me, I will firstly arrange an initial brief phone call with you so that you can tell me a little more about yourself and your difficulties.

I will then invite you in for an initial assessment session where we can decide together if we would like to start the therapy. My work with adults can vary from a minimum of 10 sessions to long term work. Our journey together will be reviewed regularly to think about how the therapy is helping you and where our journey is taking us.

All sessions are for 50 minutes and the fee is £100 per session.

I can often be flexible in the day and time of sessions to suit your availability.

Working with Children and Adolescents

When I am contacted by a parent, I will first arrange a brief phone call which will be followed up by a parent only assessment session. In this session I will ask you about your child and your concerns for them as well as taking a factual history of your child's development and experiences.

If we all agree, including your child, that psychotherapy would be helpful, we will arrange a day and time that fits in with the child and family.

I expect to work with young people for a minimum of 1 school term but usually longer. The therapeutic journey will be reviewed regularly and this will also involve meetings with parents where the client will also be invited to come along.

All sessions are for 50 minutes and the fee is £100 per session.

Working with Couples

Following an initial brief phone call, I will invite you in for a first session where we will all decide if we would like to work together.

All sessions are for 1 hour and the fee is £120 per session.

I can often be flexible in the day and time of sessions to suit your availability.

Working with Parents

Parenting sessions can be arranged as single sessions and sometimes this is enough to help parents understand more about what their child might be experiencing.

All sessions are for 1 hour and the fee is £120 per session.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an Accredited UKCP Supervisor for client work with adults, children, adolescents and couples.

I believe that clinical supervision should be a collaborative and enjoyable process where we can be curious together about your clinical work and explore deeper understanding in a creative way.

Supervision provides the backbone of your work with clients and should actively stretch and inform you in how you work with your clients to help them to reach better understanding of themselves and their relationships.

I have a Diploma in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision from Terapia and I am an Approved Supervisor for the MA in Child Psychotherapy at Terapia and the Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling at Cambridge University

Fees: £70 per 50 minute session for qualified practitioners and £55 per 50 minute session for students and trainees.
