About me and my therapy practice

Hello my name is Sharon and welcome to my profile.

My approach is grounded in humanistic values that recognises that each person has the inner capacity for growth, change and can build resilience.

I understand that life can feel overwhelming at times in your life. Over the past  10 years as a counsellor,  I have supported clients in navigating uncertainty, and becoming the best version of themselves.

Whether you are currently experiencing anxiety, grief,  low self worth, perfectionism, low mood, loss of identity, navigating a major life transition, burn out or experiencing the  challenges of neurodiversity, I provide a safe and compassionate space both face to face or online to help you explore what is holding you back.

Together we will explore what's beneath the surface by providing a space for deep reflection, curiosity   and greater self understanding. This journey will provide insights into your  emotions, thoughts and behaviour.   You will gain personal tools to rediscovering your voice, values, strengths, ways of building self worth and self acceptance.

I have experience working with clients  in GP surgeries, university settings, private practice and work as a university lecturing in counselling skills.

Get In Touch

If you are looking for a safe supportive space to explore your current thoughts and emotions, work through unresolved past experiences, life goals, or looking to reconnect with your authentic self I would love to hear from you.

Whether you are new to counselling or have experienced  therapy before my aim is to work together at a pace which is comfortable for you.

I offer a free 10 minute call to discuss your counselling needs to see if you feel we are compatible.

I work online zoom or Face -to- Face in the Morriston area of Swansea, South West Wales.

Practice description

How I work:-

As a  counsellor I am primarily humanistic in my approach, Person-Centred Therapy,  exploring clients narratives and emotions. I work with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy skills ,  and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills helping with emotional regulation, distress tolerance and radical acceptance.

Manage Anxiety and Stress-

Using psychoeducation to covey what is "anxiety". Learn a variety of techniques to calm your mind by using guided  breathing techniques, learn how to regulate emotions, building a self care routine, reframing negative automatic thoughts and replace with more balancing thoughts.

Build Self-Esteem -

Challenging negative self talk narratives, exploring in depth the "Inner Critic". Develop self compassion, self acceptance,  building self worth, confidence, whilst cultivating a healthier self-image.

Working through Past Experiences -

Explore how past experiences may be influencing your present emotions. Learn ways to let go of limiting thinking beliefs, old  behaviours patterns  and stuck emotions  in order to move forward

Working with Grief

Grief is one of the of the most universal human experiences yet often misunderstood.  I offer a compassionate space to tell your story, helping  you to reconnect with life in a way that is meaningful and authentic for you whilst honouring  your relationship with the person you have lost.

Navigating Life Transitions -

Whether it a career change, loss, relationship breakdown, counselling can help process emotions, explore options, provide insights  in order to  move forward with confidence.
