About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I have over 20 years experience supporting people through some of life’s difficult and changing moments. I work with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds, helping people explore experiences such as anxiety, depression, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, stress, grief, loss and life transitions.
I’m a dual-trained Psychodynamic Therapeutic Counsellor, Executive and Leadership Coach, and Supervisor. My wider experience has given me a deeper understanding of people, relationships and life’s pressures. But when we work together, my focus is on you—your experiences, your feelings, your relationships and what is happening in your life now.
I don’t believe therapy is about being told what you should do. For me, it’s about having the time and space to slow things down, be honest about how you’re really feeling and begin to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. I’ll listen, ask questions and sometimes gently challenge you, helping you explore thoughts, feelings and patterns that may be difficult to see on your own.
My approach is relational, psychodynamic and integrative. I tailor our work to you because no two people experience life in the same way. We’ll work at a pace that feels right and explore what matters to you, including how your past may influence how you feel, think and relate to yourself and others today.
I believe the relationship between therapist and client matters. Feeling safe, heard and accepted can make it easier to talk about things you may not have been able to say elsewhere.
My hope is that together, you can understand yourself more deeply, process difficult experiences, strengthen your relationships and feel more grounded as you move forward.
You don’t have to know where to begin. We can begin together.
Practice description
±«ÓãÊÓƵ
I work with people who are navigating life transitions, relationship difficulties, burnout, and the impact of, anxiety, or depression.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself, and unsure where to start. I offer a supportive space where you can feel safe, heard, and not judged.
As a dual trained practitioner, Psychotherapist, counseller, executive and leadership coach, and supervisor. I work independently with individuals and couples.
My approach is collaborative, psychodynamic and integrative, and we will focus on what feels most important to you. Together, we will work at your pace, to explore your experiences, process difficult emotions, to understand what’s going on for you and what you need.
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring our work together to suit your individual needs.
I have particular experience supporting people affected by stress, burnout, domestic abuse, grief, loss, relationship issues and depression.
Therapy with me is about helping you feel more grounded, more self-aware, and more empowered to make lasting, positive changes in your life. I aim to help you reconnect with yourself, and move forward in a way that feels meaningful to you.
My first session
±«ÓãÊÓƵ
I offer a free 30-minute introductory conversation to give us the opportunity to meet, talk and see whether I might be the right therapist for you.
This is a relaxed, informal conversation with no pressure and no obligation to continue. It’s a chance for you to tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling, what you’re experiencing and what you might hope to get from therapy. You can also ask me any questions about counselling or how I work.
Before we meet, I will ask you to complete a short questionnaire. This helps me understand a little about what you’re looking for and means we can make the most of our time together. You only need to share what you feel comfortable sharing.
You don’t need to have everything figured out. Sometimes simply having someone listen can be the beginning of making sense of what you’re going through. I will guide the conversation gently, listen without judgement and give you space to talk about what matters to you.
For me, finding the right therapist is important. Therapy is personal, and the relationship we build matters. You should feel comfortable, heard and able to be yourself.
If we both feel that we are a good fit, we can talk about the next step and arrange your first counselling session. If you decide that I am not the right person for you, that’s okay too.
If you have been thinking about counselling, perhaps this is your opportunity to take that first step.
I would be very happy to meet you, hear your story and explore how I might support you.
