Opening in February 2026, our accredited member to senior accredited member (SCoPEd column B to C) route 1: Streamlined route will be for accredited members who have completed a ±«ÓãÊÓƵaccredited or approved column C progression training course since their initial accreditation.

Eligibility criteria overview

To apply you’ll need to:Ìý

• be an accreditedÌýmember of BACP
• be practising as a counsellor and or psychotherapist. You must have been in practice for at least four years when you apply for senior accreditation
• have successfully completed and received an award from a ±«ÓãÊÓƵaccredited or approved column C progression training course or qualification, since your initial accreditation
• have completed a minimum of 50 hours of supervised counsellor or psychotherapist practice since your initial accreditation
• have completed 160 hours of personal therapy or personal development work that has contributed to self-awareness and is applicable to therapeutic practice
• have an ongoing current contract for counselling or psychotherapy supervision for a minimum of 1.5 hours per month
• have been supervised for at least 1.5 hours per month throughout the period of practice submitted
