±«ÓãÊÓÆµand the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) have a reciprocal agreement to recognise each other’s counsellor and psychotherapist accreditation schemes. Successful applicants will receive all the benefits normally associated with both organisations’ accredited member status.
The ±«ÓãÊÓÆµaccredited membership category is aligned with column B of the Scope of Practice and Education (SCoPEd) framework.
You must work within the or Ethical Framework that applies in the country in which you work. You will also be subject to the appropriate Professional Conduct Procedures.

Requirements
You must:
- be a member of BACP
- not have made an unsuccessful application for ±«ÓãÊÓÆµaccreditation in the last 12 months
How to apply
Please download and complete the IACP Recognition Application form (docx 111KB). Send it by email to accreditation@bacp.co.uk with copies of your IACP accreditation certificate and authentication letter.Ìý
When we receive your form, we will contact IACP to confirm your IACP:Â
- membership good standing
- accreditation status
- accreditation renewal dateÂ
If your application is successful, you’ll receive a confirmation email and you’ll be able to download a Certificate of Accreditation from the member area of our website. The certificate is updated each year on renewal of your ±«ÓãÊÓÆµmembership.Ìý
Costs
Applying for recognition of your IACP accreditation is free. However, if your ±«ÓãÊÓÆµmembership lapses, you may have to pay fees to reinstate your membership and accreditation.
