Seeking Counsellors to Share Your Expertise!
Do you have experience working with new partners of survivors of narcissistic abuse (SONA)?
My name is Maria Cole, and I'm an MSc Counselling and Psychotherapy student at the University of Staffordshire. I am conducting a research study to understand the unique challenges and experiences faced by counsellors working with this specific client population. I am particularly interested in exploring how your clinical experiences can inform and improve therapeutic practices for new partners of Survivors of Narcissistic abuse by;
• Exploring the relational and emotional challenges faced by new partners of SONA, as
seen through your clinical experiences.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of current therapeutic approaches in addressing the needs
of these new partners.
• Generate practical recommendations for therapists working with this population, based
on your insights.
The study will require you to give an hour of your time to part take in a semi-structured interview. Interviews will be conducted at a time convenient to you via either face to face or via Zoom/ MS Teams video call.
Ethical approval for this study has been granted by the University of Staffordshire ethical panel.
What Will You Do?
Share your valuable experiences, insights, and perspectives, to help contribute to a deeper understanding of the therapeutic needs of new partners of Survivors of Narcissistic abuse.
To participate in this study, you must:
• Be over 18 years old.
• Hold a recognized professional counselling qualification accredited by a relevant UK
body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, NCS), possess a minimum of two years post-qualification
clinical experience, and have direct, demonstrable experience of providing therapy
to individuals identifying as new partners of SONA
