As a ±«ÓãÊÓƵindividual member, you aren’t represented in the SCoPEd framework, but you will be once you’ve joined our Register.

Being an individual member is an important step to becoming a registered member and having your skills, knowledge, training and experience recognised. ±«ÓãÊÓƵaligning its membership categories to the SCoPEd framework reinforces and broadens that recognition.Ìý

When the Scope of Practice and Education (SCoPEd) is fully integrated in February 2026 there will be a new range of different accreditation routes that will give you more options to develop your career and progress as a ±«ÓãÊÓƵmember.ÌýÌý

Looking at the accreditation route options for registered members might help you decide on the kind of training and career development path that could be right for you in the future.

Right now though, you »å´Ç²Ô’t need to do anything different, and ·É±ð’d like to reassure you that:Ìý

• SCoPEd doesn’t change any of our individual membership eligibility requirements for existing members
• there are no changes to the eligibility requirements or the process for becoming a registered member

For student cohorts starting their courses from February 2026 onwards, students and individuals wishing to join ±«ÓãÊÓƵmust be studying on, or have completed, a course that:

• is a minimum Level 4 qualification (or equivalent)Ìý
• is a minimum length of two years - whether full or part-timeÌý
• has a minimum of 300 guided learning/tutor contact hoursÌý
• has either
  - 100% face to face classroom-based tuition or,
  - includes at least 70% face to face classroom-based tuition with the remaining tuition delivered as live synchronous online training
• includes an integral, supervised placement of at least 100 client hours, of which at least 51% must be face to face delivery Ìý
